Boys Soccer Power Rankings – End of Regular Season

With the regular season a wrap, here are the final Power Rankings for Boys Soccer!

#1 UNION COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #4
RECORD: 9-2 (8-0 in 8-AA)
The Panthers won the 8-AA Region Championship and went perfect within region play. They took out local teams Banks and Rabun twice each, and Lumpkin in non-region play. The #7-ranked 2A team in the state is our new #1 in the Power Rankings ahead of the state tournament.
#2 HABERSHAM CENTRAL
PREVIOUS: #5
RECORD: 11-7 (7-5 in 8-AAAAAA)
The Raiders closed out strong to finish at 11-7 and 7-5 in one of the toughest regions in the state. That gets them in the playoffs as a 3-seed, and they defeated our previous #1 White County 4-1 to close non-region play.
#3 WHITE COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #1
RECORD: 11-4 (6-0 in 7-AAA)
The Warriors, ranked #4 this season at one point in Class 3A, won a region championship for the first time in 7-AAA. Only a slip-up to Habersham kept them from remaining at #1 in our Power Rankings. White County is ready for a deep playoff run.

#4 TOWNS COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #3
RECORD: 9-2 (9-1 in 8-A Public)
The Indians, ranked #2 now in the state in 1A Public, have had a stellar season that included a Region 8A Public Championship. It will be exciting to see just how far this group goes in the playoffs. They receive an auto bye in the first round, so Towns is already in the Sweet 16!
#5 JEFFERSON
PREVIOUS: #2
RECORD: 8-5-2 (4-2 in 8-AAAA)
The Dragons, ranked #6 in Class 4A at one point, finished out the regular season 0-2-1 in the final 3 games to knock them into #5. This is still a really good team that has a chance to do something special in the state playoffs, which they will start out at home.
#6 TALLULAH FALLS
PREVIOUS: #6
RECORD: 8-4 (6-4 in 8-A Private)
The Indians remain at #6 in our Power Rankings, and closed out strong despite a loss in the regular season finale. The 11-1 win on senior night saw Max Farris break the school record for goals and assists in a single season. TFS opens the playoffs on the road.
#7 RABUN COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #7
RECORD: 3-9-1 (2-6 in 8-AA)
The Wildcats have a playoff spot as a #4 seed from 8-AA. That’s something to build on for sure!
#8 COMMERCE
PREVIOUS: #12
RECORD: 4-8 (3-6 in 8-A Public)
The Tigers made a strong push to end the season, and worked into a #4 seed from 8A Public. Commerce notched a win over Banks (below) as part of its reasoning for being #8 in our Power Rankings.
#9 LUMPKIN COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #8
RECORD: 2-11 (2-4 in 7-AAA)
The Indians were held out of the playoffs in a tough 7-AAA, but weren’t too shabby in region play at 2-4.
#10 STEPHENS COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #9
2020 RECORD: 1-11-1 (0-5 in 8-AAA)
The Indians were also held out of postseason play after going winless in region play. The lone win of the year came over Banks (below).

#11 DAWSON COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #11
RECORD: 1-14-2 (0-4-1 in 7-AAA)
The Tigers got in the win column once this season and missed out on the playoffs.
#12 BANKS COUNTY
PREVIOUS: #10
RECORD: 1-13 (1-6 in 8-AA)
Banks County finished the season out of the playoff picture.
