AJC All-State List Features a Dozen Local Players
The accolades continue to roll in for football standouts, as the AJC released its 2020 All-State teams by classification. Among the state’s best includes a dozen of our local players. FULL AJC LISTS
In Class 6A, Habersham Central SR Joshua Pickett was listed as an Honorable Mention. In 4A, Jefferson sophomore Malaki Starks earned top distinction as the Offensive Player of the Year, and listed at QB for All-State. On defense, Jefferson’s Rem Maxwell (SR) made the list as well at LB. Dragons senior Colton Steele also was recognized as an Honorable Mention
Class 3A included Stephens County senior WR Gamarion Carter making the All-State Offense list, while White County’s SR QB J Ben Haynes and Dawson County JR QB Zach Holtzclaw earning Honorable Mention status. In 2A, Rabun County JR QB Gunner Stockton was named at the QB position All-State, and earned the honor of Offensive Player of the Year as well. Teammate, senior WR Adriel Clark, was also named All-State Offense.
Commerce had three featured for Class 1A, including All-State SR OL Payton Freeman, All-State Athlete Sammy Brown, and All-State kicker Eryck Diaz.
