Rabun’s Deetz, White’s Futch Tabbed Players of the Week

The Player of the Week Fan Vote for Girls Basketball Player of the Week tallied 12,044 votes, with Rabun County’s Gracie Deetz tallying 9,922 to win the Fan Vote. BLITZ then picked White County’s Maddie Futch as Co-POW.

Rabun County junior guard/forward Gracie Deetz was poised for a big season, and she’s following through with that hype. Her #1 Lady Wildcats are still unbeaten through 9 games this season, and Deetz’ play has been pivotal. In 3 games last week, Deetz shot 85% from the free throw line. She averaged 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per contest over that stretch, totaling 48 points, 21 rebounds, and 6 blocks, while also taking 4 charges. This is Deetz’ second POW award this season, with the other coming in volleyball.
