Lady Raiders Use Huge Second Quarter to Hold Off Shiloh [VIDEO]

The Lady Raiders earned a region win over Shiloh on Tuesday evening at home, holding off visiting Shiloh in a 52-42 game. Habersham (8-1, 2-0 in 7-AAAAAA) held a sizeable lead over the Lady Generals (3-10, 1-1), including a 28-15 halftime lead. The win keeps the Lady Raiders perfect in region play.

Shiloh went on a third quarter run to bridge the gap to just 4 points, but Habersham wouldn’t allow the game to get any closer, and hit free throws down the stretch to earn the win.
The first quarter saw both teams struggle to get on the board, as it was tied at two apiece 4 minutes into the game. Shiloh hit a go-ahead 3-pointer, and led 7-4 going into the second. That’s when the Lady Raiders took off, as Lindsey Parker hit a 3-pointer to put the home team up for good. It was part of an 11-0 run, capped by a 3-point play by Taylor Wade, which pushed the lead to 15-7. The second quarter saw the Lady Raiders outscore Shiloh 24-8.
Nykerriah Brown hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the third to pad the lead to 21-11, and Parker’s triple made it 25-11. Shiloh used a 15-6 third quarter run to make it close, but Habersham entered the final quarter with a 10-point lead. That lead also slipped to just 5 points before the girls hit their shots at the charity stripe to secure the win.
Brown led the way with a team-high 13 points, while Wade also reached double figures with 11. Kyia Barrett had 7 points for the Lady Raiders, while Elizabeth Pollitt had 5.
