Jefferson has the current lead in light of their success in nearly every fall sport. Notably football (State Runner-Up), volleyball, and girls cross country (State Runner-Up), which garnered the most points for JHS this fall. Union has never won the Cup, but had a great showing with every fall team getting some level of success, led by a Final Four run in volleyball. Commerce, which won a state title in cross country and were runner-up in softball, sits in second, and Rabun third after seeing their football team make the semifinals.
The BLITZ Cup is awarded annually since 2009-10 to one school in our coverage area that finishes the school year with the highest point total. Points are awarded for any and all sports, with points earned for winning seasons, region titles, state playoff berths, state rankings, Player of the Year awards and more!
