
The Player of the Week Fan Vote notched 46,273 votes, with Rabun County’s Hoff Windham (22,602) earning the top spot. BLITZ then named Paxton Corkery (Jefferson) as the Co-POW, as he happened to finish second in the voting with 20,822.

HOFF WINDHAM – FAN VOTE

Hoff Windham has had a monster 2020 season. The senior linebacker has been a mainstay on the Wildcats defense, and had a sensational round two performance in the Rabun win over Model. Windham had 8 tackles and 2.5 for loss, and now for the season has 92 tackles (7.5 TFL), an interception, and a fumble recovery. Since his junior year, the linebacker has 181 total tackles (23 for loss), 4 sacks, 3 INT, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, 1 blocked punt, 2 QB hurries, and a pass deflection. This is Windham’s first POW award.

PAXTON CORKERY – BLITZ PICK

Jefferson senior Paxton Corkery had a great performance against Hapeville Charter. As usual, when a big play was needed, the DE/RB was ready to make that play. Corkery, a former Lineman of the Week this season, earns Player of the Week honors after getting it done on both sides.
Corkery had 3 tackles on defense, and on offense had a big-time TD run as well as a 2-point conversion. He has 106 rushing yards on the season with 2 TD, 37 total tackles (11 for loss), 5 Sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.
