The third and final Defensive Player of the Month honors for 2020 go to Dawson County’s Logan Berry (Fan Vote) and Habersham Central’s Austin Wood (BLITZ Pick). Berry took 21,646 of the total 52,552 votes to earn the nod, while BLITZ named Wood co-Player of the Month.

Defensive Player of the Month awards started in 2019, and featured three sets of winners (picked after every four weeks of the regular season).

LOGAN BERRY – FAN VOTE

Dawson County junior Logan Berry found consistency over the past four weeks of the regular season. The defensive end had 21 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery.

AUSTIN WOOD – BLITZ PICK

Austin Wood had not one…but TWO games this season with 3 interceptions. He had 8 tackles and 6 interceptions in the last 4 games, easily earning POM honors. He also had a forced fumble and 2 pass deflections. For the season, he has 44 tackles and 9 interceptions along with 13 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles.
