Week Ten is in the books. Here’s what went down on Friday night (and Thursday in some cases).

THE LOCALS

#9 Cherokee Bluff 28, Dawson County 27

Dawson took a 14-7 lead after one quarter, and after a 14-all tie, Caleb Bonesteel hit a pair of clutch field goals to take a 20-14 lead. Conley Dyer had a third quarter rushing TD to go up 27-21. After blocking a Bonesteel field goal, Cherokee Bluff converted a fourth down and scored in the final moments to win 28-27.

#1 Jefferson 67, Chestatee 12 (Thursday)

The Dragons clipped the War Eagles, 67-12. Malaki Starks rushed for 2 TD and passed for another. He found Jordan Perry early for a 36-yd TD. Kolton Jones had a 20-yd rushing score, followed by an 18-yd TD run by Starks to go up 20-0 after just one quarter. Carter Stephenson had a 40-yd TD run after Chestatee got on the board. After the War Eagles struck again, Starks (1 yd) and Jones (32 yds) gave Jefferson a 40-12 halftime lead. Perry (11 yds), Kam Robinson (9 yds), Stephenson (2 yds), and Isaiah Copeland (2 yds) capped off the scoring with rushing TDs in the second half.

White County 49, Lumpkin County 13

White County jumped out to a 14-0 lead quickly behind 2 rushing scores for Silas Mulligan. J Ben Haynes then made his much-anticipated return with a 68-yd TD pass to Mulligan. He threw a 23-yd TD to Reece Dockery a bit later, and a Mulligan 51-yd TD run made it 35-0 after just one quarter. Haynes threw a second quarter TD to Jimmy King, and Seth Stonecypher added a rushing TD. Lumpkin scored 13 straight to close it out.

#1 Rabun County 63, Elbert County 7

Rabun County wasted only 46 seconds before an 86-yd TD run for Lang Windham, who finished with 4 TD on the night. Gunner Stockton had 3 TD passes to Adriel Clark, and QB1 had 2 rushing scores as well. The Wildcats were up 49-7 at the break, and went on to win 63-7. Sutton Jones had 3 interceptions.

#3 Commerce 48, Social Circle 22

Trey Huff, Tyelon Brock, and Michael Sherman all scored to open it up 18-0 for Commerce. Sammy Brown’s 51-yd TD run made it 26-0 at the break. After SC got a TD, Sherman scored again to pad the lead to 34-6. Huff later hit Brock for a big TD pass and another to Shawn Cunningham as Commerce won 48-22.

Rabun Gap 21, Union County 6 (Thursday)

The Panthers couldn’t get consistency on the offensive side of the ball. A couple of Mason McCombs field goals was Union came up with, though the defense held them in the game throughout.

Towns County 20, Greene County 0

The Indians got their first win in over a month and a half, and the defense played spectacularly at Greene County.
