Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week: Mason Gaddis / Aaron Helton

Brand New for 2020 – the Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week. Long have people asked for the guys who do the dirty work to get more recognition. Now, they do. Each week in the 2020 season, we will recognize an offensive lineman (or the full line as it is often a joint effort), and a defensive lineman, sponsored by Habersham EMC.

This week’s winners are Mason Gaddis (Commerce) for the O-Line, and Aaron Helton (Union) for the D-Line.

MASON GADDIS – COMMERCE

Mason Gaddis is having a solid season for the Tigers, and last week in the win over Towns County, the left guard graded out at 94%. The junior tallied 3 pancake blocks in the region win. This is the first BLITZ award for Gaddis.

OTHERS WHO STOOD OUT: Jefferson’s Brian Habeck (TD, fum rec); White County’s O-Line (29 pancake blks, 22 knockdowns, 361 yds)

AARON HELTON – UNION COUNTY

Union County senior standout Aaron Helton had a monster performance for the Panthers in the region win over Banks County. The DL racked up 10 tackles, including 3 for loss. He took down the quarterback often, recording 3 sacks. This is Helton’s first BLITZ award.
