Warriors Crush West Hall In First Region Win

Chaz Mullis – After two hard-fought losses against Dawson and North Hall, the Warriors have been itching to regain traction without starting QB J Ben Haynes.
Stand-in QB Riley Stancil found his footing and led White County to a much-needed shutout game against the West Hall Spartans, 35-0. Silas Mulligan pulled much of the weight as well with several critical TDs.
The first quarter started with what could’ve been a costly fumble on the snap to White County’s Stancil. White County’s Bryson Cronic found an interception on the next play and took it back 60 yards. This set the stage for a 5-yard Zion McMullen TD that brought the score to 7-0.
From then on, it was Mulligan who drove the score in White County’s favor to 28-0. Mulligan brought home some swift 4-, 12- and 38-yard TD runs in the early 1st quarter and late 2nd and 3rd quarters that loosened the morale of the Spartan defense.
The Warriors’ defense held off a faulty Spartan offense later in the 3rd quarter that led to the final score. Stancil capped off the night with a 5-yard TD run that would seal White County’s first region victory.
