Receivers Rule in Week 7, Earning Player of the Week

The Player of the Week Fan Vote notched 21,372 votes, with White County’s Darius Cannon (10,761) taking the top spot. BLITZ then picked both Adriel Clark (Rabun) as Co-POW.

DARIUS CANNON – FAN VOTE

Darius Cannon had a monster performance in White County’s overtime region loss to North Hall. The sophomore wide receiver just needs the ball in space. He turned two screen passes into two 70-plus yard TDs. Those two TDs tied the game in the fourth quarter both times, and accounted for nearly 150 yards of his 251 yards. He had 6 catches for 251 yards and 3 TD.
For the season, Cannon has 13 catches for 427 yards and 5 TD, and a rushing TD as well to his credit. This is Cannon’s first POW award, though he has previously been named Defensive Player of the Month in 2019 as a freshman.
