Literally zero movement in our Power Rankings. Again, head-to-head matchups help dictate that order. Here is the rundown after Week Seven.

#1 JEFFERSON
LAST RANK: #1
RECORD: 5-0 (1-0)
LAST: Canceled vs East Hall (COVID concerns for EH)
NEXT: vs Cedar Shoals
The #1-ranked Dragons didn’t get to play their game against East Hall, who has had to can two games for COVID reasons. It’s unclear whether the Dragons will pick up a game on October 30, when they have a scheduled bye week. Jefferson takes on Cedar Shoals at home in Week 8.

#2 RABUN COUNTY
LAST RANK: #2
RECORD: 5-1 (0-0)
LAST: W 63-17 @ Pope
NEXT: Canceled @ St. Anne Pacelli
#1 Rabun nearly matched the 70 it put up the week prior. The Cats had very little trouble with 6A opponent Pope, and moved to 5-1 with another Gunner Stockton, Adriel Clark, and Lang Windham offensive display. Rabun appears to be hitting another gear as it nears region play. Next up was Pacelli, which backed out ahead of game week.

#3 COMMERCE
LAST RANK: #3
RECORD: 5-1 (1-0)
LAST: W 35-0 vs Greene County
NEXT: vs Towns County
The #3-ranked Tigers are hitting their stride now. True to form, Commerce uses many different players to find the end zone. That was true again in a 35-0 win in which 7 different Tigers scored. Next up is Towns County as Commerce seeks to run through the region.
#4 DAWSON COUNTY
LAST RANK: #4
RECORD: 2-3 (1-0)
LAST: BYE
NEXT: vs Gilmer
Dawson County got a nicely placed bye week that followed the momentum-grabbing win over White County. Now the Tigers turn their attention to Gilmer, who just stomped Lumpkin and put up a lot of points. Every game is crucial from here on out for all teams in region play, and Dawson is no exception.
#5 WHITE COUNTY
LAST RANK: #5
RECORD: 4-2 (0-2)
LAST: L 31-34 vs North Hall (OT)
NEXT: vs West Hall
The #7-ranked Warriors have hit a deep hole in the season. After the brilliant 4-0 start, J Ben Haynes went down early in the third quarter of an eventual loss to Dawson. It’s worth arguing if he was in that game, would White County have won? Same can be said for the game against North Hall, an overtime thriller that saw the Warriors unable to contain the Trojans. This is a serious 0-2 hole in a region that contains front-runner Dawson, undefeated Cherokee Bluff, and Gilmer who appears to be a solid playoff-like team. There’s almost NO ROOM for error here on out as pertains to playoff hopes. The Warriors need their star QB back. On another note, the emergence of Darius Cannon has been incredible to watch. Just get him the ball in open space and watch him work.
#6 STEPHENS COUNTY
LAST RANK: #6
RECORD: 4-2 (0-1)
LAST: L 21-41 @ Monroe Area
NEXT: @ #9 Franklin County
Stephens County suffered its first loss since Week 1 when running into a buzz saw called Monroe Area. The Indians will look to rebound when hitting the road again, this time at #9-ranked Franklin County.
#7 HABERSHAM CENTRAL
LAST RANK: #7
RECORD: 3-3 (1-1)
LAST: L 7-44 vs #1 Buford
NEXT: @ #5 Dacula
This is the part of the schedule everyone knew would be tough on the Raiders. That’s what made the win over Winder-Barrow last week so important. That first region win is in the bag, but then came the date with #1-ranked Buford. That ended as predicted, but it doesn’t stop there. Now comes #5 Dacula on the road, then #9-ranked Lanier after that (at home) and Central Gwinnett following that.

#8 UNION COUNTY
LAST RANK: #8
RECORD: 2-2 (0-0)
LAST: BYE
NEXT: @ Banks County
Union County hasn’t played in two full weeks after having a second game canceled for COVID reasons. This time it was a scheduled bye week. The good thing is this team is so well-rested. Next up is Banks County in a region opener on the road.
#9 TOWNS COUNTY
LAST RANK: #9
RECORD: 2-3 (0-0)
LAST: Canceled vs Lincoln (COVID concerns)
NEXT: @ #3 Commerce
Towns County had its game against Lincoln County canceled for COVID-related issues. Next up is #3 Commerce on the road as the Indians look to show what they can do in region play.

#10 BANKS COUNTY
LAST RANK: #10
RECORD: 1-5 (0-0)
LAST: BYE
NEXT: vs Union County
Banks County got a nice bye week to regroup for the region part of the schedule. For that, they welcome in Union County to kick things off. No matter what, the Leopards are going to state in this four-team region, but they’d like to take a win or two from region opponents.
#11 LUMPKIN COUNTY
LAST RANK: #11
RECORD: 0-5 (0-0)
LAST: L 7-62 @ Gilmer
NEXT: @ North Hall
Lumpkin County remains without a win after a hard game at Gilmer. It gets tougher next week when visiting The Brickyard. North Hall is a team trending upward, so the Indians will have their hands full.
