Burke, Corbett Named Players of the Week

Volleyball Player of the Week honors go to White County’s Linsey Burke (Fan Vote) and Tallulah Falls’ Katy Corbett (BLITZ Pick). Burke led the fan voting with 48,962 of the 100,510 total votes. Just behind her was Rabun’s Beth Payne (48,049 votes).
LINSEY BURKE – FAN VOTE

Freshman phenom Linsey Burke has been incredible for the Lady Warriors. The setter had a big week in matches played last week, tallying 64 assists, 21 digs, 5 kills, and 4 aces. In the process, she notched career assist (and for the 2020 season) number 500! That’s almost unheard of. This is Burke’s first Player of the Week award.

KATY CORBETT – BLITZ PICK

Tallulah Falls standout senior Katy Corbett has been as good as ever here lately. Last week, she went for 36 kills and 36 digs, adding two assists for the Lady Indians. TFS had an unbelievable month of September, and while already punching a ticket to the state tournament, would love to take a stab at a region title. Corbett, the defending BLITZ Volleyball Player of the Year, earns her third-ever POW award and second this season.
