Gridiron Preview 2020: White County
The Warriors roll into 2020 with huge hopes and their greatest shot in some time to make a deep playoff run. That is contributed to the returning cast, especially of skill players.
Head Coach: Tim Cokely, 4th season
2019 Record: 5-5
Tim Cokely enters his fourth season at the helm of the program, and this might be one of his best chances yet for his team to make a serious run. That’s because these guys return so much talent and experience, and the Warriors finally get moved out of Class 4A into 3A. This should be a playoff run that goes beyond the first round. Make no doubt about it – the Warriors firmly expect to battle for a region title in the ever-tough 7-AAA.

Personnel & Schemes
Key Departures: Nix Burkett, Jesse Thomas, Will Sampson, Cameron Sizemore, Jacob Anderson, Clay Bolton
Key Returning Players: J Ben Haynes, Cooper Turner, Zion McMullen, Silas Mulligan, Jaquez Williams, Riley Stancil, Seth Stonecypher, Reece Dockery, Dylan Archer, Darius Cannon
The Warriors bring back a plethora of depth, especially at the skill positions. J Ben Haynes and Cooper Turner are set for a grand finale as seniors, along with Reece Dockery, Riley Stancil, and Seth Stonecypher. Plug in big-time playmakers Zion McMullen and Silas Mulligan, and this should be a very special season.
Up & Coming Players: Bryson Cronic, Darius Cannon, J.D. Trowell, Alex Garcia
Offense: The Warriors will play to their strength, and that means a spread offense for J Ben Haynes to have a field day with top receiver Cooper Turner and others. It will be a running back by committee, headlined by Riley Stancil, Zion McMullen, and Seth Stonecypher.
Defense: The defensive style is a 3-3 stack. The big names that will be key on that side of the ball are McMullen, Silas Mulligan, and Jaquez Williams.
Strengths & Areas of Focus
Strengths: Returning depth at offensive skill positions. That side of the ball is brimming with talent and should be booming from game one.
Focusing On: Controlling what they can control with the crazy year that 2020 has been so far, as well as replacing seniors Cameron Sizemore, Jacob Anderson, and Clay Bolton on the O-Line. To that end, Devin Sullens and J.D. Trowell will be counted on, along with Cam Godfrey and move-in Alex Garcia. On the D-Line, Jaquez Williams and Heaven Gholston will anchor the line.
