Diamond Preview 2020: Rabun County

The Lady Wildcats had the most significant jump from one year to the next in 2019. After winning ZERO games in 2017, and only 3 in 2018, the girls went off for 14 last season. 2020 is a promising season in Tiger, GA.

Head Coach: Angela Shepheard, 3rd Season
2019 Record: 14-9; State Sweet 16; Region 3rd
Personnel
Key Departures: Alyssa Fair, Sarah Sprinkle
Key Returning Players: Isabelle Green, Ayahna Jenkins, Brooklyn Jordan, Courtney Stewart
No doubt Alyssa Fair and Sarah Sprinkle will be sorely missed. But when you look at the parts of the lineup coming back, you want to believe this team won’t miss a beat if others can step up to fill the void left by Fair and Sprinkle.
Strengths & Areas of Focus
Strengths: Momentum. When you’re coming off an historic turnaround like the Lady Cats saw, that wave surely ripples over to 2020.
Focusing On: Taking the next step. Not just maintaining what they’ve done, but looking to get to Columbus should be the goal. And not getting complacent. At Rabun County, that’s not been a problem in any sport. They don’t look back.
