Towns County’s Jensen Brown takes last finalist spot for boys soccer POY
34,416 total votes rolled in for the “One Last Finalist” Fan Vote for BLITZ Boys Soccer Player of the Year. It was Towns County junior midfielder Jensen Brown, who had 3 goals and 1 assist on the COVID-shortened season, who took the cake. Brown logged 13,829, just edging Lumpkin’s Dylan Bodney and his 11,164.
Brown joins six other finalists now up for the award. That crop includes Brown, teammate Peyton Barrett, Steven Bennett (Habersham), Erwin Durmic (Banks), Hayden Gensler (White), Brandon Hudson (Jefferson), and Kobi Robbins (Union).
Next up comes the voting by our internal panel to determine Player of the Year. This is done Heisman-style (each voter ranking the finalists) to determine the winner.
