Jefferson’s Jackson, Lumpkin’s Kenney named Soccer Players of the Week

It’s back-to-back weeks that Jefferson’s girls soccer program has a player named Player of the Week. This time it was Savanna Jackson taking the Fan Vote with 6,343 votes. In total, 9,921 votes were cast for POW. BLITZ then named Lumpkin’s Hope Kenney Co-POW.

SAVANNA JACKSON (FAN VOTE)

The Lady Dragons are/were looking as favorites to make a run at a state championship. Savanna Jackson was unstoppable in the two games Jefferson got in last week prior to the sudden halt due to COVID-19. The sophomore tallied 8 goals and an assist in the two contests, earning her first-ever POW award.

HOPE KENNEY (BLITZ PICK)

It’s back-to-back weeks that Hope Kenney earns the nod from BLITZ. This marks her fourth Player of the Week award in her career. The senior put in 5 goals in a single game last week, inching her closer to 100 for her career. The tragedy is IF her season is over, she will have been extremely close to that milestone.
