White County girls place fifth at state

On Friday morning, White County’s girls finished 5th among the best teams in the state. The Lady Warriors were led by Ellie Gearing, who paced White County with a 21:18 time, good for 24th.

The girls also received strong performances by Sydnee Nix (27th) and Josie Stover (43rd).

The Warriors, on the flip side, were represented by Eamonn O’Bryant as an individual. The junior finished in 20th place, crossing the line with a 17:28.

The girls have finished in the top 10 at state in eight straight seasons, going back to 2012. They finished 11th in 2011. In that span, the Lady Warriors have finished top five in seven of those seasons (3rd place in 2012, 2013, and 2016). The Warriors finished 6th in 2017 and 5th in 2018.
