Scores & Recaps: Week 10

Week 10 came and went, and we now have two weeks left in the regular season.

THE LOCALS

#10 Denmark 28, White County 21

Denmark went up 14-0 in the first before J Ben Haynes got a 26-yd TD to Jesse Thomas. It was 14-7 at the break before the Danes added on to make it 21-7 midway through the third. Riley Stancil’s trick play TD pass to Cooper Turner went 79 yards to make it 21-14 late in the third. Denmark opened the fourth with a TD to make it 28-14. Haynes connected on a 14-yd TD to Turner later in the quarter to round out the scoring.

#10 Dawson County 51, Fannin County 7

QB Zach Holtclaw had 5 passing and 1 rushing TD to lead the Tigers to a blowout win. He passed for 385 yards and connected with 10 different receivers.

#2 Rabun County 61, Social Circle 20

Gunner Stockton threw 6 touchdowns in a game that was 51-7 at the half. Social Circle actually scored on the first play of the game, but that was it. Cory Keller had 136 rushing yards in the win, while Braxton Hicks and Sutton Jones both had 2 TD catches.

Putnam 24, Banks County 13

Banks suffered a 24-13 region loss to put them in a position to now win out to make state.

#7 Union County 43, Oglethorpe 0

The Panthers offense was back, and Pierson Allison led the charge with 3 TDs. Allison had a rushing score, and later a TD pass to Cayden Rich and Sawyer Drake to take a 23-0 halftime lead.

North Hall 59, Lumpkin County 0

Lumpkin fell 59-0 to North Hall.

#6 Commerce 56, Towns County 16

Commerce rebounded with a blowout victory over Towns County, as the Indians still seek their first win.

#8 North Oconee 42, Stephens County 10

The Indians have now dropped 7 straight games.

#3 Jefferson 26, Monroe Area 7

The Dragons won the region 8-AAA title with this win over Monroe. Colby Clark opened the scoring on a rushing TD late in the 1st. His second TD capped a 90-yd drive to make it 13-7 to start the 2nd. That held to the break, and Clark hit Dawson Crawley with a TD pass midway in the 3rd to go up 19-7. Clark added another to cap the scoring late in the quarter.

#1 Dacula 41, Habersham Central 0

Habersham is in a spot to now win out to make the playoffs.
