In what turned out to be a massive stuffing of votes for Volleyball Player of the Week, it was Dawson’s Haylie Selzer (10,532 votes) who edged Habersham’s Kelsey Anderson (9,060) and Madeline Koshuta (4,902) for the Fan Vote. There were 24,860 total votes. BLITZ then named Koshuta Co-Player of the Week.

HAYLIE SELZER (FAN VOTE)

Junior outside hitter Haylie Selzer led the Lady Tigers (playoff bound) through much of the season. Selzer stepped up big for the team in recent meets, and has put up some great numbers – 174 digs, 95 kills, 50 aces, 49 assists, and a 91% serve percentage. MADELINE KOSHUTA (BLITZ PICK)

Madeline Koshuta is a freshman…so what? She plays so much better than that, and has been deserving of Player of the Week honors many times this season. The Lady Raiders’ historic season is a direct reflection of great leadership, and players like Koshuta who have rounded the team off very well. The outside hitter in recent competition collected 29 kills, 14 digs, and 2 blocks to help Habersham Central continue its dominance. This is Koshuta’s first Player of the Week award.
