Quiles (Habersham), Martinet (Banks) slug way to weekly award


Habersham Central’s Kyla Quiles (4,332) dominated in the voting for Player of the Week, taking 55% of the total 7,883 votes. BLITZ then chose vote-getter runner-up Jill Martinet (Banks County; 1,690 votes) as Co-Player of the Week.

Habersham Central Raiders’ junior pitcher/first baseman Kyla Quiles had a great stretch of play in which she hit .800, and went 1-0 in the circle. This comes at a crucial time for Habersham, which sits third in the current region standings and is 9-7 overall.
Quiles earns her first Player of the Week award.

Banks County senior third baseman Jill Martinet has had a brilliant career for the Lady Leopards. She’s been instrumental in the historic success of the past three seasons, especially this year.
