The voting by Raider Nation was tremendous, as Jackson Clouatre (6,113 votes) and teammate Joshua Pickett (5,583) were first and second in the Player of the Week Fan Vote poll. 19,209 total votes were casted, including 4,519 for Malaki Starks (Jefferson). Clouatre won the Fan Vote, while BLITZ named Stephens County’s Hudson Spurlock Co-Player of the Week.
JACKSON CLOUATRE (FAN VOTE)
Jackson Clouatre ran like a mad man in the win over White County, rushing for 5.6 yards per tote, including the game-sealing TD in the fourth quarter. The junior rushed for 141, and added 36 receiving yards to go with his two scores. He also recorded 3 tackles.
It was long overdue for the speedy back, who did everything but find the end zone in his first two games. He finally got the well-earned TDs, and now has a team-high 282 rushing yards (5.4 YPC), which comes out to 94 yards per game. He also has 72 receiving yards, 67 kick return yards, and 6 interception yards for a grand total of 427 all-purpose yards. On the flip side, he has 9 tackles (1 for loss), an interception, a pass break-up, and two deflections. This is Clouatre’s second career Player of the Week award.

Hudson Spurlock has deserved this award a week or two ago in full disclosure. After rushing for 408 yards and 7 TDs through 3 games, he finally gets the award. This time it comes after 174 rushing yards and a TD, along with 58 kick return and 5 receiving yards.
He recorded 5 TDs in his first game of the season, a win over Franklin County. In that game, he had 164 yards rushing. He was held in check for the most part in the loss to Hart County (70 yards, 1 TD), but exploded against #2 Athens Academy for 174 yards on 28 carries (6.2 YPC). For the season, he has 408 rushing yards, 147 kick return yards, and 5 receiving yards for a total of 560 all-purpose. This is Spurlock’s second career POW award.
