
As local golf has wrapped up area meets, we present the reported order of our locals. Next up, the state meet on May 20-21.
AREA 2-6A
Habersham Central
The Raiders and Lady Raiders both finished 6th in the area, neither of which qualifies for state. The boys shot a 326, while the girls carded a 305. The Raiders did have Smith Caudell shoot 77, thus giving him an individual state bid.


AREA 3-4A
White County
The Lady Warriors finished as Area Runner-Up with a 225, just one stroke off Woodward Academy, thus successfully giving White County a state ticket. The Craig sisters, Caroline and Catie, once again led the way.
The Warriors finished 5th, barely missing the cut for state with a 343, a mere 5 strokes short. Jacob Adams (82) did qualify as an individual.
AREA 2-4A
Stephens County
The Lady Indians finished 3rd, earning a spot at state with a 289. The boys finished 5th with a 337 overall, missing out as a team. But Luke Ramsey (79) and Zack Knell (82) both will represent after qualifying as individuals.
AREA 2-4A
Jefferson / Dawson County / Lumpkin County
The Dragons won the area title with a 317, 12 strokes better than second place. The girls, meanwhile, also qualified with a 4th-place 284.
Dawson County’s boys finished 4th (358), but out of the cut for state. However, Will Howard’s 78 gave him an individual bid. The Lady Tigers finished 6th with a 316, qualifying for state with their score.
Lumpkin County’s boys (386) finished 6th, while the girls (331) came in 8th at area. Ashlyn Burch (94) qualified for the Lady Indians.

AREA 4-2A
Union County / Rabun County / Banks County
Union County’s girls carded a runner-up area finish, qualifying for state.
Rabun’s girls tied for runner-up with Union, but won the tie-breaker and advanced to state. Journey Quilliams led with a 96.
Banks County’s girls shot a 210 to come in 4th, missing the cut as a team for state. However, Chelsea Lewallen posted the best score for non-qualifying teams, coming in 4th with a 95. She will represent the Lady Leopards at state.

AREA 4A-PUBLIC
Commerce / Towns County
The Tigers (339) finished as Area Runner-Up, qualifying for state. The girls (160) also earned the runner-up spot and state bid.
The Towns County boys (346) also finished with a state qualifying spot with a 3rd-place finish.
AREA 2A-PRIVATE
Tallulah Falls
The TFS girls (157) won the area by a single stroke, earning a state bid. The boys (381) finished 8th.
