Union’s Yost, Habersham’s Acker combine for 10 goals, 10 assists for POW award
Our weekly Fan Vote for Player of the Week (Soccer), it was Habersham Central’s Taylor Acker who earned the honors after recording 1,590 votes of the total 3,545. BLITZ also picked Union’s Madison Yost as Player of the Week.
The junior midfielder/forward has been pivotal to the success of the Habersham Central Lady Raiders (3-5; 3-1 in region play). In the past three games for Hab, she notched a pair of goals and 4 assists in total. Two of her helpers were game-winning assists in region victories. This is Acker’s first Player of the Week award and she’s the first Habersham girls soccer player to earn it since Lindsey Lewallen & Kindra Purdy shared the honors in the 2017 season.
Madison Yost feels like she’s been at Union County FOREVER. That’s because since day one as a freshman, she’s been ridiculously good at soccer. Her career is still far from over, as she now leads the charge as a senior for the Lady Panthers (4-1).
The senior forward has continued her domination recently, scoring 8 goals and adding 6 assists in the last two games alone! This makes Yosts’ second career Player of the Week award.
