Spencer Adams wrapped up his 2018 campaign with a very solid outing in a 2-0 loss at Gwinnett on Sunday afternoon. Adams allowed just one run – it was earned – in seven strong innings, giving up six hits and no walks while striking out four.

In a year that’s been huge for the 2014 White County alum, who was drafted in the 2nd Round of the MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox, Adams fittingly got the chance for a second time to play in front of his family and friends from nearby Cleveland.

In his two outings at Gwinnett, he’s allowed just one run and ten hits and two walks in 14 innings of work with eight strikeouts.

He closed 2018 with a 7-13 record and a 3.79 ERA, and lowered that by 0.12 points with Sunday’s outing. He started 28 games, a new career high, which spanned 159 innings. He struck out 95 against 58 walks.

His career line now stands at 39-48 with a 3.82 ERA and 463 strikeouts in 645.2 innings. He has pitched in 115 games (114 starts) and has motored through the White Sox minor league system.
