Tre Luttrell, a Gainesville transfer to Habersham Central, is an all-state dual-threat quarterback for the 2018 preseason. The Raiders’ senior signal-caller will also play safety, but is poised for a big season in a drive to get Habersham back to the 6A state playoffs for the first time since 2011. Luttrell tallied over 2,000 offensive yards last season, including some 25 TDs.
Dawson County senior Sevaughn Clark, one of 2017’s top running backs, was also named a preseason all-state running back in Class 3A. The Tigers’ standout had 1,806 rush yds and 15 TD last season, averaging 5.7 yards per tote. He also proved a viable threat in the passing game with 135 receiving yards and a score. The every-down back carried a massive load of 316 carries last year, so the Tigers will be more than happy to give him that many chances (hopefully more) again this year — rumor has it he is playing QB this year, so a state top-10 rusher last year may be handling every snap, a dangerous combo when you factor in Dawson’s solid receiving corp headlined by senior Ryan Glass.
