Game of the Week Preview: Dawson seeks to remain unbeaten in region play

SBT Team online ad FOOTBALL

Week 10 marks the final game of the 2017 regular season for a couple of teams (Chestatee & North Hall), but for most, we still have this week and next. What better place to be than Dahlonega for a long-time rivalry matchup between neighboring counties – Dawson County at Lumpkin County! With nearly 1,000 votes, you — our fans — picked Lumpkin/Dawson as our Game of the Week. White County vs West Hall was a close second, falling just 40 votes shy.

The Tigers (6-2; 4-0) are undefeated in Region 7-AAA, while the Indians (1-7; 1-3) are coming off their first win of the season. This historic matchup dates back to 1968, and a Dawson win not only evens the all-time series (currently 19-18-2 in favor of Lumpkin), but gives the Tigers a region championship matchup for Week 11 at #1 GAC.
