One of fewer than a dozen Raiders to ever be a 4-year letterman at the time of graduation, he graduated as the state all-time leader in TD catches with 37 (eventually passed but still high in the top-10). He had the Raider records for catches, yards, and TDs receiving.

COLLEGE – UGA (2008-2012)

From 2008-2012, Tavarres King became a prominent receiver for the Bulldogs. He hauled in a career 136 receptions for 2,602 yards and 21 TD. In his redshirt freshman year, he had two receptions for 66 yards. In 2009, he had 18 catches for 377 yards and his first collegiate score. He followed that up with a 2010 season of 27 receptions for 504 yards and three TDs. His fourth season (2011), King had 47 catches for 705 yards and two scores, and elected to come back in 2012 for another year. In his final season in Athens, he had 42 receptions for 950 yards and nine TDs.

NFL – 2013-2017

Drafted in the 5th Round (161st Overall) in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, King logged wound up seeing action in 2014 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bouncing around with several teams, he next logged official NFL action for the New York Giants in 2016 and 2017. Overall he posted 22 catches for 303 yards with three TDs. He played in a playoff game in 2016, catching three balls for 73 yards and a TD from Eli Manning. He retired in 2018 after playing seven years in the NFL, spending time with the Broncos, Panthers, Jaguars, Bucs, and Giants.
