BOYS GOLF

JACOB ADAMS

Jacob Adams wrapped up his career in fine fashion as a senior. In that 2021 season, he was 4th in the region and 6th at state, carding a 75 18-hole average. He was robbed of what would have been a great junior year in 2020 (thanks to COVID). The sophomore 2019 season saw him blossom into a standout golfer, as he was 17th at the Area Championship and 57th at state, hovering around an 80 scoring average and sub-40 in 9-holes. His freshman year even featured a 79th-place finish at state with an 87. He shot around 75 across 18 and 38.5 across 9.

SMITH CAUDELL

Habersham Central standout Smith Caudell all three times came in the top-10 at area/region (COVID 2020 season wiped out). He qualified for state or sectionals each time, and carded a 37.8 across 9-holes and a 75.8 across 18-holes. He was consistently among the top golfers in any given match. He was 6th at area as a junior, 7th as a freshman, and 10th as a senior. His best finish at state was a 13th-place finish in his 2021 junior year.

SAGE CULPEPPER

Sage Culpepper twice was an Area Champion, guiding the Tigers to multiple state tournament appearances in the process. The two-time State Top-5 finisher was often low medalist throughout his career, especially in the final two seasons. His 18-hole average of 75 and 9-hole average of 37.5 was very solid.

JEREMY DAVIS

Davis was a 4-year leader for Commerce, helping the program to 4 consecutive top-10 finishes at state. His scoring average of 76 made him one of the best golfers in school history, and 3 times he finished state in the top-15, including a 5th place finish. Davis was a 3-time All-Area golfer and the 2019 BLITZ Golfer of the Year.

AARON GEORGE

BLITZ HOF - Aaron George LUMPKIN CO

George has been forgotten by some as a state champion contender during his time at Lumpkin County. He was a three-time All-Region and All-State selection (2009-11) and claimed individual Region Championships in both 2010 and 2011 as a junior and senior, and was the State Runner-Up in 2010. As a junior in 2010, he averaged a 71.4, while dropping that to a 71.1 in his senior season and finishing third at state. George was the BLITZ Golfer of the Year in both of those seasons. He went on to a solid career at the University of North Georgia.

LEE MCCOY

BLITZ HOF - Lee McCoy - HABERSHAM

Lee McCoy was a state champion in his lone season at Habersham Central after moving from Florida. He was the 2012 Golfer of the Year after winning his state championship. He had seven tournament wins and scored a 69.9 average. His career at UGA was even better, as he finished it with a sixth place finish in the national tournament. He was the SEC Player of the Year, and SEC tournament champion, and set UGA records for career average (70.87) and single-season average (70). His amateur highlight came in the Valspar Invitational, where he played alongside Jordan Spieth, and beat him, while placing fourth in the PGA event, but was unable to collect on the winnings ($292,800). McCoy has since made the PGA Tour as a regular.

COOPER ROLAND

Cooper Roland

Roland was a four-year letterman for the Raiders, and was a leader even as a freshman. We don’t see that often. He was consistently the top one or two golfers in the program for three straight seasons, and his scoring average hovered in the 70s. He was third in the region in 2018, and averaged a 79 throughout his senior season. Roland played at Truett McConnell.

JACK ROWE

Jack Rowe was a 3-time BLITZ Golfer of the Year. He was worthy of each and was the most consistent golfer in his career. Consider his career. The senior 2024 season, Rowe came in 8th at state with a 149, and was 5th at Area with a 68. More than 30 times, he was the low medalist at a given match throughout his prep career. His junior season saw him finish 15th at state (75,76), and finish as Area RU (68), averaging 35.9 in 9 holes and 71.8 in 18. As a sophomore, he was 4th at state (72,73) after finishing top-5 at Area. That garners him 30+ low medalist finishes, 3x Area Top-5 finishes, and 2x Top-10 state finishes with an average near 69 across 18 holes and roughly 34.5 across 9.

GARRETT ROWLAND

BLITZ HOF - Garrett Rowland WHITE CO

Rowland was a fantastic high school golfer, and was named BLITZ Golfer of the Year back-to-back in 2014 and 2015. As a junior, he placed 3rd at region with a 79, and placed 7th among 3A golfers at state with a 75. He reached new heights as a senior, averaging under 74 and became the 4A state runner-up while carding an unbelievable 71. This led to Rowland being named 1st Team All-State. He had finished fourth in region, but rebounded and polished off his career in incredible fashion. He had six tournament victories and was a part of the winningest senior class in White County history, as the Warriors made state three straight years with Ben Turner and Duncan Moody. This included a 2013 region championship. Rowland was selected to the GHSGCA (Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association) Ryder cup team, Team North, which won. He also holds the distinction of completing 11 straight tournament rounds during his senior year without a 3-putt. Rowland played college golf at Piedmont College.

HENRY SHARPTON

Henry Sharpton was a 3-time team captain for the Commerce Tigers, and definitely showed why on the course. He posted 3 top-5 finishes at Area (COVID 2020 season prevented a 4th), and 3 top-15 finishes as state, including a personal-best 7th place as senior in 2022. He was 15th at state as a freshman in 2019, 12th in 2021 as a junior, and 7th in 2022 as a senior. He carried a 77 18-hole average and 37 9-hole average to finish out. Sharpton was an All-State golfer.
