FRESHMAN SEASON (2012)

Charlie Woerner immediately made an impact as a freshman, and officially turned around the Rabun County program with coach Lee Shaw. In that first season, the Wildcats went 6-5 making the playoffs. He registered 117 tackles and had three interceptions. On offense, he had 629 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and 85 rushing with another two. He earned All-Region honors.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2013)

As a sophomore, he led the Cats to an 8-3 improvement and another playoff run. He rushed for 918 yards and 18 TD, and had 417 receiving yards and five more TDs, adding five interceptions and 84 tackles. He again earned All-Region honors, as well as All-State accolades.

JUNIOR SEASON (2014)

He exploded with his junior year, taking Rabun to the second round of state with a 9-3 record and a region title. He rushed for 1,187 yards and 11 TDs, and added 690 receiving with six scores. With 122 tackles, he added three interceptions. He was named BLITZ Player of the Year and was again All-State and All-Region.

SENIOR YEAR (2015)

Going 11-2 all the way to the Quarterfinals, he again led Rabun to a region title. This time he had 960 yards and 15 TD receiving and 67 rushing with a TD. He had another 100-tackle season (105), and had a career-best 9.5 TFL along with two interceptions.

COLLEGE – UGA (2016-2019)

From 2016-19, Woerner starred at UGA, playing in 54 games at the TE position mostly as a blocking presence. He did haul in 34 catches for 376 yards and a TD. He had five tackles as well, and played in the National Championship in his junior 2018 season.

NFL – 2020-Present

Drafted in the 6th Round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and 190th overall, Woerner went to the San Francisco 49ers (defending Super Bowl runner-up). In four seasons there (2020-2023), he played in 65 games and had seven starts, catching 11 passes for 120 yards (0 TD). Playing also on special teams, he had 25 tackles. He played in the 2024 Super Bowl (LVIII) in an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, collecting a tackle on special teams. He signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2024 season. In his first year there, he had seven catches for 46 yards, starting five out of his 16 games played. He had four tackles.
