There’s zero doubt – from start to finish, Huey Blalock proved himself to be the best point guard in the entire state, and his legend grows as he adds BLITZ Player of the Year status to his long list of accolades.

The numbers don’t lie, but they also don’t tell the whole story. Huey Blalock averaged 19 points per game with 10 assists. If he wanted to, he could score at around 30 points per game on average. But his playmaking ability – whether it was shot creation, getting to the cup, throwing a perfect pass from midcourt (or between the legs, off the backboard, etc), playing tight defense, or icing games at the charity stripe – was second to none. He was good for four rebounds and two steals per game, shot 54% from the floor overall and 44% from deep, and an elite 88% from the line. The Region POY and Championship Game MVP finished with 1,964 career points and 953 career assists. Blalock was a 10-time BLITZ Player of the Week as well. The Navy signee will forever be held in high esteem in Rabun for leading the Wildcats to their fist-ever State Championship in basketball.
