Year one under coach Jaybo Shaw is now a thing of the past. Year two, the expectations rise. Dawson County went 4-6 last season, ending just a game shy of probably making the playoffs. A mostly young group has now developed into a true core, and will be expected to take the next step in Dawsonville.

The core includes returning QB Brody Sorensen (518 yds, 2 TD passing), Cody McBrayer at RB (1,162 rush yds, 13 TD), Cash Watkins at WR (131 yds, 1 TD), and other standouts such as QB-turned-Swiss Army Knife Gunnar Weaver, Aden Bannister, and on defense: Josiah Holtzclaw, Jayden Cohen, Bannister, and Avery Martin.
