Through each full week of sports in the school year, we’ll recognize the Teams of the Week, brought to you by Cofield Outdoors!

Girls Basketball – Union County Lady Panthers

This is an incredible team – yet still so young. That’s scary for the future, but even in the present teams better take notice. Union rolled to a great finish in the regular season, and came in runner-up in the region. They’re 18-9 on the season.

Boys Basketball – Rabun County Wildcats

Back-to-back team of the week for Rabun County. The Cats polished off the regular season with a thrilling overtime win against Commerce for the second straight region title for the program! Rabun is 25-2 overall.

Baseball – Jefferson Dragons

The Dragons are 5-1 to start the campaign, with the lone loss in a rematch against top-10 Stephens County. Jefferson has some great wins, including one against Stephens, Habersham Central, Apalachee, Dawson, and Hart.

Boys Soccer – Dawson County Tigers

The Tigers, ranked #10 in the state, are 4-0 to start the season with an 8-4 goal count. They’re grinding out wins over Cherokee Bluff (PKs), Calhoun, Habersham Central, and West Hall. These are extremely impressive victories.

Girls Soccer – Union County Lady Panthers

The state-ranked #5 team in Georgia, Union County is coming for everyone this season. The Lady Panthers are off to a 3-0 start on the year, with wins over Fannin, Franklin, and Rabun.
