Through each full week of sports in the school year, we’ll recognize the Teams of the Week, brought to you by Cofield Outdoors!

Girls Basketball – Lumpkin County Lady Indians
The Lady Indians reeled off a monumental win in a huge comeback at White County. Lumpkin took the top-10 victory due in large part to some great outside shooting by Alayna Lindley. It was a fantastic way to close the regular season.

Boys Basketball – Rabun County Wildcats
Rabun County had to wait a long time, but the Wildcats got revenge against Commerce, beating the Tigers at home to put an exclamation on the end of the regular season.

Wrestling – Jefferson Dragons and Lumpkin County Lady Indians
The Dragons swept the state tournament with the traditional, just weeks after the duals. Jefferson had eight individual state champs in the process. Meanwhile, the Lumpkin girls had two individual champions and won as a team with several placing in the top-5.

Baseball – Stephens County Indians
The Indians split with top-10 Jefferson, and beat top-5 Habersham in a solid first week of the season. Stephens County is off to a great start.

Boys Soccer – Dawson County Tigers
The Tigers opened the season 2-0 with wins over Cherokee Bluff (in PKs) and a shutout of Calhoun. Dawson County is looking to make a strong statement at the beginning of the season.

Girls Soccer – Jefferson Lady Dragons
The Lady Dragons forced OT against powerhouse Buford and won in PKs. This was an incredible way to start for Jefferson.
