
Here’s what transpired on Friday night, which marked Week Twelve and concluded the regular season.
Towns County 38, Rock Springs Christian 0 (THUR)
The Indians tied their program record with a seventh win to close out their season in a rare Thursday night game against Rock Springs Christian. Alex Baert scored a 43-yd TD on the third play, and Towns scored on each of its first five possessions in taking a 35-0 halftime lead. Dustin Barrett added two TD runs and a TD pass to Sam Sarafin, who had two TDs in total as well.
#8 Jackson County 53, Habersham Central 6
Jackson County rolled to its first-ever region title with a dominating effort in a 53-6 win. A 29-point first quarter spelled doom for Habersham, as a pair of blocked punts went for TDs, Daylan Maxwell had a 13-yd TD, and RJ Knapp III hit Landon Jones on a 27-yd TD all in the first eight minutes of the game. Bryce Garrison and Kaleb Culver had the blocked punt TDs, and a Christopher Burrows chip-shot field goal before the break had the score at 32-0. Maxwell added a 63-yd TD and 66-yd TD in the second half, while Jayson Lee had a 2-yd score. In that mix, Paris Wilbanks threw a 78-yd TD to Tylon Davis.
#2 Jefferson 24, Oconee County 19
CJ Hays had a 74-yd TD on the first play of the game, and it was a lead the Dragons wouldn’t release. Colton Grant added a 1-yd score to push Jefferson up 14-3, and it was a tight battle to the final whistle, though they won the region championship yet again. It marks a fourth straight championship for the Dragons, making the senior class the first 4-time champs in school history.
Lumpkin County 29, Pickens 22
The Indians rebounded with a solid 29-22 win over Pickens, and held a 21-3 lead at the half.

Rabun County 31, Elbert County 23
Rabun County rebounded with a tough win at The Granite Bowl in Elberton, taking a 31-23 final. Elbert took an early 14-0 lead before the Wildcats stormed back. Ty Truelove threw a 5-yd TD to Reed Lafevers to get Rabun back in the game in the second. On the next play, Reed Burrell had a pick six for the game-tying score. The go-ahead came on a Truelove gutsy 6-yd TD run where he dove and was rolled into the granite stands. Elbert had a TD in the second half, but the extra point missed. Lake Evans caught a 15-yd TD from Truelove to create some margin at 28-20. Each side added a field goal from there.
White County 55, Johnson 8
The Warriors took a 55-8 blowout win to close their season in style, taking three of their final four games to gain some traction for next year. The scoring: Savion Anderson 20-yd TD, Alex Freeman-Reid Penrose 15-yd TD, Freeman-Davey Waller 20-yd TD, all for a 21-0 first quarter lead. In the second, Freeman hit John Jarrard on a 10-yd TD, then he threw another to Anderson for a 10-yd strike. Anderson added a 6-yd TD run, and Freeman had a passing TD of 28 yards to Zach Godfrey for a 49-0 halftime lead. Brian Robinson threw an 8-yd TD to Hayden Weakley for the 55-0 lead before Johnson got a garbage time score.
#3 North Hall 42, Dawson County 7
The Trojans finished their perfect regular season with a convincing 42-7 win over Dawson County.
Stephens County 49, East Jackson 34
The Indians secured a 49-34 win over East Jackson to close out the regular season and put themselves in a good spot for the playoffs. Dallas Hague led in rushing with 59 yards, with Wiley (55), while Duke Collins had 63 receiving yards. Branson Stowe threw for 177 yards in the win. Morris Perkins had a scoop-n-score and a rushing TD.

Franklin County 31, Hart County 0
The Lions rebounded with their seventh win of the season in a dominant performance over Hart County of 31-0.
Commerce 52, Providence Christian 0
The Tigers closed the season with a second straight win, taking a 52-0 final over Providence Christian. Demarco Huff had a TD run before a safety. Then Tate Kirk had a 23-yd TD pass to Ty Sorrells, with a Jace Lyle 2-point conversion for the 17-0 lead. Sorrells had a 33-yd TD in the second, and Lyle added a 36-yd score for a 31-0 halftime lead. Commerce wasn’t done – Lyle had a punt return for a TD, Blake Spear had a pick six, then Kirk had a 19-yd TD to Spear. Commerce took a 45-0 lead into the final quarter. Lyle put a stamp on it with a 72-yd TD.
Oglethorpe County 42, Banks County 20
The Leopards’ search for their first win came up short in a 42-20 season-ending loss to Oglethorpe.
Union County 39, North Cobb Christian 35 (THUR)
The Panthers capped off their season with a 38-35 thrilling, last-second win over North Cobb Christian. Bentley Rich had an early TD of 58 yards, and Chetley Cox had a 4-yd TD, and then again from 30 yards as Union led 21-16 at the break. NCC went on a run to go up 29-24 as the Panthers notched only a field goal. Then things got crazy. An interception changed the game, as Cox hit Micah Wallace for a 7-yd TD, and Cox completed the 2-point try to Jax Dillinger. Union was up 32-29 with just over three to play. North Cobb rallied back with a go-ahead TD with 1:35 remaining, up 35-32. The Panthers drove the whole field and scored with 16 seconds to go on Rich’s 1-yd run.
