The BLITZ Football Players of the Week are Duke Collins (Stephens County), Reid Giles (Rabun County), and Micah Wallace (Union County). Collins won the Fan Vote with 8,165 of the 18,099 total votes. Giles and Wallace were the BLITZ Picks.

DUKE COLLINS – STEPHENS COUNTY

Stephens County standout sophomore Duke Collins had yet another great performance. The WR/DB had 141 yards receiving on 10 catches to pace the offense. Defensively, he added 10 tackles. This is his first POW award.

REID GILES – RABUN COUNTY

Just when it seems like Reid Giles can’t possibly top a previous record night, he proves everyone wrong. The senior RB/S had a game not only that he will never forget, but the rest of us there won’t either. He collected six touchdowns, with four rushing, one receiving, and one on a punt return. He added seven tackles and an interception, and had another pick that somehow wasn’t counted. He had 243 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards, along with 60 punt return yards. This is his sixth career POW award.

MICAH WALLACE – UNION COUNTY

If you haven’t heard of Micah Wallace, now you have. The Union County sophomore was instrumental in keeping the Panthers in a tight ballgame. The linebacker had a ridiculous 18 tackles, and added an interception as well, earning his first POW award.
