Already two weeks in the books. Here’s what transpired on Friday night.
Flowery Branch 31, Habersham Central 28
Flowery Branch grabbed a quick 14-0 lead through one, and never relinquished. RB Griffin Harper had four rushing TDs, and Brett Strum used his arm and legs to help keep FB undefeated against the Raiders (4-0 all-time). Habersham got a passing score and two rushing from QB Paris Wilbanks, and the Raiders had a chance at 31-28 with 33 seconds left with an onside kick attempt, but the Falcons recovered. Donnie Warren had a big night, including a TD run. KJ Murray had the receiving TD.
#1 Jefferson 10, Jackson County 3
Low-scoring game at Memorial Stadium, but the Dragons won a slobber-knocker against the Panthers. Taylor McCall had a 42-yd field goal in the first half to tie the game at three apiece. Late in the third, Colton Grant found Logan Edmunds for a 32-yd, game-winning TD. The defense has allowed just three total points in two games.

#6 Rabun County 35, Fannin County 0
The Wildcats made no bones about it with yet another incredible all-around performance in a 35-0 blanking of a good Fannin County team. Rabun was up 32-0 at the half before slowing things down with a running clock again in the second half. Reid Giles had a TD from four yards out, and Lake Evans had an 18-yd score to make it 14-0 after one. Giles added a 13-yd scamper early in the second, and a safety moments later had it at 22-0. Ty Truelove had an 8-yd TD pass to Reed LaFevers before the break to push it to 29-0. Bryan Avila added a couple of field goals (one before the half and another in the second half).
East Jackson 21, #8 Commerce 14
A wild finish transpired for Commerce, but East Jackson prevailed in a 21-14 final. It was scoreless at the half, and the Eagles led 7-0 heading into the fourth. In the fourth, it was Jeremiah Jarrells who took an interception all the way back for the game-tying score. Layden Bryson had a 5-yd TD rush with under four minutes to go to tie it again at 14, but East Jackson got the final laugh.

Franklin County 70, Johnson 15
That’s not a typo. Look again! Franklin County put a 70-burger on Johnson. It’s the most for the Lions since 1925 (74 points in two games that season). More importantly, Franklin moves to 2-0 on the year!
#10 Stephens County 21, #10 Elbert County 17
Thomas Flowers picks up his first win for Stephens County in a gritty 21-17 win at the Granite Bowl against #10-ranked Elbert County. The Indians had to rally from down 10-0 early. Branson Stowe found Davon Swinton for a 21-yd TD, and that duo hooked up for another couple of 20-plus yard TDs to provide all the scoring.

East Forsyth 19, Dawson County 16 (OT)
Jaybo Shaw’s much-anticipated debut was solid, but Dawson County couldn’t generate much off the Broncos’ defense in what ended in overtime. East Forsyth took the 19-16 victory on a walk-off field goal.
Gilmer 42, Union County 20
A high-flying Bobcats offense rattled Union County in a 42-20 runaway game. The Panthers drop Rob Stowe’s debut.
