Football – Habersham Central Raiders

The Raiders have all the hype – and they played up to it in their scrimmage at Oconee County. Keep in mind the Warriors are a very good program with extremely high expectations. While it is a scrimmage and it’s dangerous to read too much into it one way or the other, a blowout 44-14 win for Habersham Central certainly bodes well.

Softball – Jefferson Lady Dragons

The Lady Dragons are on fire right now, going 5-0 overall and 3-0 last week. That included wins over Apalachee (10-2), Elbert County (8-0) on the road, and Thomson (19-0). The offense scored 37 runs against just two allowed last week, and are at 65-3 in the run differential overall this season. Seven hitters are batting north of .400 at the moment and the team already has more than five homeruns.

Volleyball – Habersham Central Lady Raiders

The Lady Raiders opened the season 4-1 in five matches played last week. That included sweeping local opponents – Lumpkin, Dawson, Stephens, and White. The first three were all in straight sets, and the lone loss was to powerhouse Morgan County.
