MATTHEW MITCHELL – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Senior Matthew Mitchell pulled off the heroics for Lumpkin last week. The Indians’ first baseman batted .636 (seven hits), tallied three RBI, and three stolen bases. That included a walkoff hit against Flowery Branch.

CHASE ALONSO – RABUN COUNTY

Rabun County’s Chase Alonso is on a heater…the freshman shortstop hit .750 last week, collecting six hits. He had seven RBI, six runs, and two doubles in a 3-game stretch for the Wildcats. This is his first POW award, and several more to come.

GAVEN SEARS – BANKS COUNTY

The reigning BLITZ Player of the Year is up to his usual tricks. Banks County junior Gaven Sears hit .833 in two games for the Leopards last week, who are ranked #7 in the state. He had five hits, including a homer, double, triple, and two stolen bases. His OPS was an insane 2.708. This is his second career POW award.
