The BLITZ Wrestlers of the Week are Dominic Haines (Jefferson) and Tysean Wiggins (Commerce). Haines earned 1,058 of the 1,527 fan votes.

DOMINIC HAINES – JEFFERSON

Dominic Haines was favored and well on his way to a state title at the 144-lb level. Tragedy struck, and Haines suffered a broken neck. True to form, the senior is fighting hard and with passion just as he does on the mat. Haines’ family continues to put out encouraging updates, though it’s a long journey ahead for him. No doubt he’s going to be stronger for going through this, and he’s going to have an incredible story to tell on the other side to encourage others going through difficult times. As he fights, let’s all continue to lift him and his family in prayer!

TYSEAN WIGGINS – COMMERCE

Tysean Wiggins dominated on the football field, and carried that over to the mat. The senior at 215 LB went 24-2 once he got going in wrestling, and capped off his stellar career with a state title, defeating the defending champ in the process. This is his third career BLITZ award.
