
With a new school year approaching (even though 2024-25 has some time remaining), we will continue to compile a list of the coaches coming and going (that we know of) and update as we learn of new changes. If we missed anyone, please let us know (EMAIL US MISSING COACHES).

BANKS COUNTY
- GIRLS SOCCER – Alan Hayes has announced he is leaving Banks County. No replacement has been named yet.
COMMERCE
- FOOTBALL – Lenny Gregory was named the new head coach (led Collins Hill and recent Heisman winner Travis Hunter to a State Championship in 2021), taking over for Mark Hollars.
- GIRLS BASKETBALL – Michael Palmer has been named the new girls basketball coach after Kevin Furtado has stepped away from the program.
- SOFTBALL – Madison Cruz has been named head softball coach, taking over for Melissa Mullis.
- VOLLEYBALL – Courtney Ledford was named the volleyball coach after Commerce posted the job vacated by Macey Fouche.
DAWSON COUNTY
- FOOTBALL – Jaybo Shaw (former Rabun County head coach) was named the new coach after Sid Maxwell announced his retirement following the season.

HABERSHAM CENTRAL
JEFFERSON
- GIRLS BASKETBALL – Austin Thompson (Jefferson alum and North Hall assistant coach) was tabbed the new head coach after longtime coach Greg Brown left for Dade County.
LUMPKIN COUNTY
- GIRLS BASKETBALL – Bryan Richardson was named head coach after Tess Wright stepped down.
- VOLLEYBALL – Matthew Chisholm takes over the program from long-time coach Haley Dibble.
- WRESTLING – Joshua Ghobadpoor (several state championships with Gilmer) was named the new wrestling coach, with Sean Hage taking the Trion position.

RABUN COUNTY
- FOOTBALL – Rabun tabbed Rance Gilliespie (2-time State Championship coach at Peach County) as the new head coach, following coach Michael Davis leaving the program.
STEPHENS COUNTY
- GIRLS BASKETBALL – Tess Wright (formerly of Lumpkin, above) was named the head coach after the retirement of Jerry Brown.
- FOOTBALL – Wesley Tankersley took the Fitzgerald job in mid-May, leaving Stephens reeling and naming DC Thomas Flowers interim head coach.
- GOLF – Ben Menard left Stephens County, vacating the role. No replacement has been named yet.
- SOFTBALL – Savannah Canady has been named head coach after Kasey Ivey took an elementary assistant principal job in the Stephens County system.
- VOLLEYBALL – Katie Parker has been named head coach, in place of John LaFavers
TALLULAH FALLS
- ATHLETIC DIRECTOR – TFS named Greg Neeley (former Piedmont University Men’s Basketball Coach) as the new AD. Long-time AD Scott Neal elected for retirement after some 40 years of coaching.
- CROSS COUNTRY – Former Piedmont University coach Jamie Jimison was named head coach after Scott Neal (also AD, above), announced his retirement at the end of the 2024-25 year.
- GOLF – CJ Stockel was named the head coach after Matt Crotta stepped down.
- SWIMMING – Chris Kafsky (12-year assistant coach) takes over the State Championship program after Tamara Griffis stepped down.
- TRACK & FIELD – Former Piedmont University coach Jamie Jimison was named head coach after Scott Neal (also AD, above), announced his retirement at the end of the 2024-25 year.

TOWNS COUNTY
- ATHLETIC DIRECTOR – Long-time coach and AD Jim Melton passed away suddenly in June. Towns County has not yet named his replacement.
- BOYS SOCCER – Long-time coach with 300-plus wins Art Cartee has announced his retirement. No replacement has been named yet.
- GIRLS SOCCER – Clay Livingston left Towns to coach football at Roswell. No replacement has been named.
- SOFTBALL – Clay Livingston left Towns to coach football at Roswell. Zeke Gribble takes over the program.
- WRESTLING – Jeff Stowers takes over the wrestling program with Clay Livingston leaving to coach football at Roswell.
UNION COUNTY
- FOOTBALL – Rob Stowe was named the new head coach for the Panthers after Michael Perry left for Flowery Branch.
WHITE COUNTY
- BOYS BASKETBALL – Miles Kendall (former North Hall boys head coach) was named the new head coach after Scott Givens was out after one season.
- BOYS SOCCER – Casey Colquitt (former head coach at Jefferson) was named head coach for the boys in place of Megan Runkle.
- SOFTBALL – Cari Barrett was named the new head coach after the resignation of coach Drew Owens.
