The Tallulah Falls Lady Indians (2-1) took a 60-41 win on Saturday at home over Towns County in a game they never trailed.

Breelyn Wood dropped in 23 points including a dozen in the first quarter alone, and was followed by Lia Sanjur (14 pts) and Haygen James (10). Towns (0-2) was down 17-9 after the first, which Wood ended on a buzzer-beating triple.

James had a big third quarter, and sister Handley James (8th-grader) came in and drilled a shot from downtown for her first varsity points. Kaleigh Beaver was a hard player to stop, however. The Towns County standout had 11 in the second half, finishing with 17 points.

Tallulah entered the fourth up 43-23, and led by as many as 27 points. Marian Nino also had seven for TFS, while Handley James had four and Asia Molodynska two. Towns got seven points from Alaina Murphy, six apiece from Scotlyn Fain and Ava Thompson, and five by Natalie Barnes.
