The BLITZ Football Players of the Week are Dustin Barrett (Towns County), Jaiden Daniels (Commerce), and Reid Giles (Rabun County). Barrett won the Fan Vote with 5,203 of the 8,361 total votes. Daniels and Giles were the BLITZ Picks.

DUSTIN BARRETT – TOWNS COUNTY

For the third time this season, Dustin Barrett earns a football award from BLITZ. The junior RB did much of the heavy lifting in the Indians’ win. Though he didn’t find the end zone, he had 135 rushing yards and 38 receiving yards. This is his 5th career POW award.

JAIDEN DANIELS – COMMERCE

Commerce’s Jaiden Daniels is back. If you saw him play in the win over Rabun County, it might be safe to assume he’s back to 100%. If not, that’s even scarier. He rushed for 217 yards and 3 TD, and had another 50-plus yard TD called back. He put on a clinic, and was as elusive as ever. This is his 6th career POW award.

REID GILES – RABUN COUNTY

Even with Jaiden Daniels having the game he did (above), Reid Giles went toe to toe with him. The star junior RB had 232 rushing yards and 3 TDs, a 61-yd receiving TD, and an 86-yd KOR TD for a 5-TD performance. This is Giles’ 3rd POW award of his career, and he becomes the 700th junior all-time to win an award.
