White County had a high-scoring offense in 2023, and notched another playoff berth (3rd in 4 years). The Warriors return a huge part of their defense, which should improve, and will be guided on offense by 4-year starting QB Tripp Nix.

Head Coach: Chad Bennett (3rd Season)
2023 Record: 5-6; RND 1; #9 State Ranking

“We have 23 seniors on this football team and many of them have Friday night playing experience,” says Chad Bennett. “The goals have not changed, this team wants to go 1-0 every time we take the field and compete for a region championship!”

Personnel & Schemes

Key Departures: Ryan Fowler, Cam Wilson, Caysen Duvall, Vondre Nelson, Isaiah Whitlow

Returning Starters: 6 on offense; 8 on defense

Key Returning Players: QB Tripp Nix, LB Jon Scott, WR Gaines Clark, DL Noah Williams, LB Jason Rewis, LB Alex Johnson, OL Tyler Autry

Up & Coming Players: SO WR Gaines Clark, JR RB Noel Lammers, SO DB Sawyer Gailey, SO DB Zach Godfrey, SO DB Christian Forbus

Offense: No-Huddle Spread

Expect to see SR QB Tripp Nix keep opposing defenses on their toes, as he is a true dual threat. JR RB Noel Lammers will get his crack as the starting bell-cow back. SO WR Gaines Clark emerged as the go-to option last year, and should be one of the top receivers in the region this year.

Defense: Multiple 3-4

SR DE Noah Williams, SR LB Jon Scott (and SR Alex Johnson), along with SR DB Cade Dockery will be heavy contributors.

Trenches: “Really excited about our lines of scrimmage,” adds Bennett. “As mentioned above, we return 4 DL that have played a lot of Friday night football for us. Seniors Noah Williams, J.J. Deck, Dade Anderson, and Gunner Young will lead the DL group. Up front on the OL we will be led by 3 returning starters SR Tyler Autry, SR Tyler Seymour, and JR Matt Turner. We have 4-5 juniors competing for the 2 remaining spots on the OL.”

Strengths & Areas of Focus

Strengths: “The strength of our team will be our defensive front 7 as we begin the season,” adds Bennett. “We return 4 defensive linemen (SR Noah Williams, SR J.J. Deck, SR Dade Anderson, SR Gunner Young) with a lot of playing experience as well as our returning 4 starters at inside and outside linebacker (SR Jon Scott, SR Jason Rewis, SR Alex Johnson, SR Bryce Dockery). Offensively, we will be led by SR QB Tripp Nix who will be a 4-year starter for us and our offensive line that returns 3 starters in SR Tyler Autry, SR Tyler Seymour, and JR Matt Turner.”

Focusing On: “On offense, we graduated most of our skill players who made a lot of plays for us last year,” states Bennett. “We have been giving different players an opportunity to show us what they can do. As we get closer to the season, we will continue to put the puzzle pieces together offensively so that we are ready to go August 16 when Rabun County comes to Cleveland. On defense, we are working to solidify the secondary where we graduated most of our experience.”
