This year will be historic! The Lady Indians open their first varsity season since relaunching their softball program. Tallulah Falls had a successful JV season last year, going 7-8 including 4-0 at home. Several young players got their first look at high school ball. Now comes the real litmus test.

Head Coach: Jenny Long (1st Season)
2023 Record: 7-8; JV season

Returning Starters: 7
Key Returners: SO P Callie Craver, SR Katie Anderson, SR Rylee Vandiver, SR Alana Strachan, JR Charlotte Stafford, JR Abby McCoy
Key Departures: Tahj Charlton, Allie Phasavang

Ace pitcher Callie Craver showed some flashes of brilliance, including throwing a no-hitter last season. The above returning players will be relied on heavily, along with newcomers FR Payton McEntire, JR Bailey Crumley, and SO Stephanie Celestin, according to Long.

Team Strengths: Momentum, confidence

“We expect to compete….to play with “GRIT” (growth mindset, always seeking to improve, resilient in the face of challenges, initiative to take action and pursue goals, tenacious, never giving up despite setbacks),” says Long. “This will be our first year at the varsity level. Competition will be tough because the programs are established. Our goal is to have a fundamentally sound team and compete at the highest level we can. We’re looking forward to coaching this team – gonna work hard and do our best.”
