The Wildcats reeled off a NINTH straight Quarterfinals run. Though the streak ended of 9 region titles, Rabun County fell in overtime to Commerce in a title game. It was a very young Rabun County team, and now 7 starters return on both sides of the ball. Should be another great year in Tiger!

“Like every year, we are working on winning the first game against White County and then take them one at a time,” states coach Michael Davis. “Ultimately, our goals are to win the Region Championship and a State Championship.”

Personnel & Schemes
Key Departures: Willie Goodwyn, Jack Hood, Paul Picciotti, Jarret Giles, Riley Stewart, Cooper Welch
Returning Starters: 7 on offense; 7 on defense
Key Returning Players: QB Ty Truelove, RB Reid Giles, RB Noah English, LB Elvis Hunt, RB/LB Lake Evans, WR/DB Jake Payne, OL Alex Yearwood, OL Michael Johnson, OL Zach Gordon, Ethan Hopper
Up & Coming Players: RB/LB Lake Evans, Clayton Blalock, WR Reed Burrell
“A new player to move in is Lake Evans from Mary Persons HS,” says coach Davis. “He is a RB/LB, and his mom is our new softball coach. We’re looking for big things out of Clayton Blalock. He broke his wrist early last year. Reed Burrell is playing receiver for us after a great freshmen year on the basketball court.”
Offense: No-Huddle Spread
Look for Ty Truelove to air it out and keep defenses on their toes as a dual threat. In the backfield, it will be Reid Giles and Noah English, in tandem with Lake Evans, doing some damage. Jake Payne and Reed Burrell are two go-to targets.
Defense: 3-4
Elvis Hunt, Noah English, Ethan Hopper, and Reid Giles return to anchor the defense. Several others, such as Lake Evans, Jake Payne, and linemen will all contribute heavily as well.
Trenches: 4 out of 5 starters return on the OL. Alex Yearwood, Michael Johnson, Zach Gordon, and Ta’Quavian Hargrove all roll it back.
Strengths & Areas of Focus
Strengths: “Our strengths will be our O-Line, running backs, and QB,” says Davis. “3 really good running backs and a healthy QB. Defensively our strength will be our linebackers and safeties.”
Focusing On: “We have just been focusing on Rabun County,” adds Davis. “How can we get bigger, faster, stronger to be competitive on Friday nights in the fall.”
