MOLLY MCCARTY

Molly McCarty put Jefferson girls soccer on the map. Though the program had success under previous head coaches, McCarty immediately got the Lady Dragons to the Final 4 in her second season in 2017. Entering the 2025 season, she holds an 106-26-6 overall record at Jefferson, which is astonishing. That includes 7 playoff runs, a State Runner-Up finish in 2022, 6 Sweet 16 or deeper runs, 4 Final 4 or deeper (2017, 2019, 2022, 2024), a region title (2024), and 3 Region Runner-Up finishes. Prior to Jefferson, McCarty coached at Madison County, turning the program around into a winning team while going 26-49-4, and giving several girls the opportunity to play college ball. She coached there from 2009-14 before going to be an assistant coach at Emmanuel College for a couple years. McCarty has multiple Region COY awards as well. All told, McCarty’s win total is at 132-75-10. She was Teacher of the Year for 2022-23 at Jefferson, was the 2019 FCA Female Coach of the Year, and has coached state All-Star games as well.
