Banks County went shopping for its newest head coach for girls basketball, and their hire is a slam dunk! Jason Gibson, formerly at Rabun County as the Athletic Director, returns to the court and brings nearly 30 years of coaching and administrative experience with him.

He’s been a head basketball coach at Emmanuel University, and several years as the head girls coach at Jefferson. He was the Athletic Director at both Dawson County and Rabun County.

Making the move with Gibson is daughter Jana Kate, a freshman. Gibson inherits a program that is in its golden age, just two seasons removed from a State Championship game appearance and fresh off a 25-win, Region Championship, Elite 8 season. Gibson has 200-plus wins as a head coach at the high school level with a pedigree that includes multiple region titles, state playoff runs, etc.
