The BLITZ Girls Track & Field Athletes of the Week are Addison Smith (Dawson County) and Itzia Vasquez (Rabun County). Smith won the Fan Vote with 2,747 of the 3,999 total votes. Vasquez was the BLITZ Pick.

ADDISON SMITH – DAWSON COUNTY

Addison Smith earns POW honors after finishing runner-up in the 3200 and 5th in the 1600 at Dawson County’s meet last week. The sophomore ran a 12:46 in the 3200 and a 5:42 in the 1600. She also came up huge in the Runner-Up 4×800 relay team, all at the GAC Invitational. This is her second POW award.

ITZIA VASQUEZ – RABUN COUNTY

Itzia Vasquez had one incredible meet! The senior finished 1st in the 800 (2:44), 1st in the 1600 (6:24), and 1st in the 3200 (13:28), while also leading the 4×400 Relay to a 1st-place finish all in one meet. This is her first POW award.
