
We had 9 local girls hoops teams in the state playoffs to begin with. 7 of them survived to play in the Sweet 16. Now, only 3 remain – Banks County, Rabun County, and White County. Here are the Elite 8 Results.

CLASS 3A
#2 Monroe 67, #3 White County 64
An absolute heartbreaker for White County in a 67-64 defeat at Monroe in which the Lady Warriors had the lead throughout nearly the whole contest. White County went back and forth in the first and led 19-14, then stretched the lead to 36-29 at the break. By the end of the third, the girls still were ahead 51-44, and had a 61-56 lead with under 3 minutes to go. Monroe rallied for the last-second win, ending White County’s run in the Elite 8.

CLASS 2A
#2 Josey 65, #1 Banks County 48
The Lady Leopards dropped a 65-48 game to 2-seed Josey at home in the Elite 8, ending their season.
CLASS 1A DI
#1 Rabun County 71, #1 Bryan County 45
The drama was gone just seconds in when Rabun took a quick 6-0 lead. The Lady Cats led by as many as 33, and Lucy Hood dropped 22 points, Mili Watts 13, Addybeth Owens 12, and Jacie McCall 9 in the 71-45 blowout. Rabun County gets back into the Final Four!
